Notes: Files layout: Backlinks Distribution
The following is the distribution of the number of links to each note (i.e., of backlinks):
Most notes (roughly half of them) have just 1 link (i.e., are referenced only from one other note). A few have 2. Very few have more than 10.
I have a few notes (currently 5) that have no references. In the Graph Visualization these show up as a few small disconnected nodes. These are temporary anomalies, exceptions to the principle I follow of referencing every note.
The distribution follows a power Law fairly closely. For comparison, this is the distribution of y = 2⁻ˣ:
The correspondence is striking. The only visible difference is that the tail (notes with very few references) appears to be slightly bigger.
