Knitting: Textures: Mistake rib
🧶 Overview
Mistake rib is a reversible symmetric knitting texture.
It’s similar to a 2×2 Rib where every odd row is shifted.
It looks like this:
- K K P P
- K P P K

📜 Instructions
↔︎️ Flat
- Even rows: K2 P2
- Odd rows: K2 P2, but start “shifted” (skipping up to 3 stitches, depending on row length), such that in each group of 4 one K and one P align, and one K and one P do not align. If the row length is 4n+3 stitches, (last 3 stitches of even rows are K2 P), you can simply do K2 P2 (no need to shift).

Row length must be a multiple of 4 stitches.
- Even rows: K2 P2
- Odd rows: K P2 K
