Knitting: Textures: Principles: Gauge

If no “Gauge” section is present in the input, the input meets this requirement automatically.

Otherwise, the “Gauge” section should contain a bullets list where each entry should be a link to another page.

The text of every link text should be of the form: “yarn, needles: num cm per stitch”.

• yarn: the name/brand of a yarn. This part is optional and may be omitted.

• needle: a type of needle (including the width). It should be in any of these forms (where val is a number):

  • “val mm DPNs”
  • “val mm needles”

• num: a number (corresponding to the cm per stitch).

Examples:

• Lang Yarns Merino 120, 4 mm needles: 0.43 cm per stitch
